For whom.

The goal of PVB Limburg is to make business parks in Limburg future-proof. The result is a more efficient energy supply, a better environmental balance and a stronger economic infrastructure. Not to mention cost savings for the companies involved. Thus, a win-win situation. The SEH scheme is a subsidy that can be applied for by a collective of companies (a hub), in order to start working together.

As an entrepreneur, you can take steps to make your business more sustainable. One of those steps is collaborating with other entrepreneurs in your business area. PVB Limburg supports the pooling of initiatives and encourages cooperation between companies on business parks and municipalities. As a result, you can benefit from joint initiatives and support in the field of sustainability and energy. Are you interested or would you like to receive more information? Five companies, one cable, shared energy

In the port of Maastricht, Sibelco, Wessem Port Services, Laura Metaal, Lawter, and Janssen Grondverzet are joining forces: they will share their self-generated solar power via a shared cable and smart storage.

The technology is simple. The challenge lies in the collaboration: coordination, legal frameworks, financial agreements, permits, and contracts. With support from the province, municipality, Enexis, the companies themselves, and a boost of €1.3 million from the national government, the starting signal was recently given for what could become Maastricht’s first energy hub. The collaboration is part of the Area-Oriented Approach to create a future-proof energy system. SIM is working together with the Municipality of Maastricht, Zuid-Limburg Bereikbaar, and many entrepreneurs to explore the possibilities for business growth and sustainability in times of grid congestion. Locally generated energy, also used locally. Smart, sustainable, and cost-saving.

Policy meets practice in Heerlen

On Thursday, October 24, a bus with various policymakers departed from Utrecht heading to the south of our country. The group was invited to Heerlen by PVB and BTM Parkstad.

Among other things, they visited Transcarbo, where recycled plastic window frames are produced. Kay Verkoulen, logistics manager, explains the process: a plastic window frame has a lifespan of at least fifty years and can be recycled at least ten times. The profile system is 100 percent recyclable. The processes are also organized circularly: all sawing waste and leftover pieces are recycled into new raw materials for the production of window frame profiles.

On the roof of the factory, there are 1,440 solar panels, which currently provide over 50% of their own energy needs.
