The health transition in Limburg: more focus on prevention and importance of care innovations
The pressure on healthcare is incredibly high. Sort of overstretched even. The demand for care is increasing and care is becoming more and more expensive. Also, after the Corona pandemic, care still needs to be caught up with. At the same time, the healthcare industry is facing personnel shortages and the demand for healthcare personnel will only increase in the coming years. The way we deal with care now, with our health, is no longer sustainable in the future. In short: the health transition is badly needed. Also in Limburg.

In 2023 we will start the third edition of MedLim.
Innovative ideas to improve the health and vitality of Parkstad residents can count on a €10,000 investment grant from the recently established Limburg Early Execution Fund (LEEF). LEEF is part of the Vie Innovatie Hub Parkstad (VIHP). LEEF offers grants to support initiators with promising ideas in the field of health and vitality. This can be done in the research phase, but also at a later stage during the development of the relevant idea. An important requirement is that the initiative must promote health in the South Limburg region.
LIOF is setting up master classes for startups in the fields of medical devices and food & nutrition, based on the network built up in recent years. Here they focus on the topics they now see innovative start-ups and scale-ups running into. When it comes to medical technology, for example, the new regulations are clearly a hurdle. The goal of these master classes is to help innovations in health get to market faster. The master classes consist of a number of half-day sessions where various experts share their knowledge and can be questioned. As soon as the dates are known we will inform you on shiftLimburg.
