Suppose the power goes out or there is some other crisis situation? How do you, as a company, get through these difficult circumstances as well as possible? To help you prepare your company or organization as well as possible, VNO-NCW and MKB-Nederland have drawn up a resilience guide. This describes the steps you can take to become resilient.
Three scenarios
.The guide - which was prepared in coordination with the Ministry of Economic Affairs - contains an approach that is applicable to three scenarios:
- Failure of electricity (72 hours or longer),
- Internet and telephone outages (72 hours or longer) and,
- A situation in which the Netherlands becomes involved in a military conflict.
step by step and with practical examples, the guide describes what preparations you can make in important areas. For example: how do my employees stay safe, which people are crucial and how do I reach them if communication breaks down? And what about suppliers and ICT?
.A free resource
.The guide is a tool, the recommendations are not mandatory. It offers examples and inspiration to strengthen the resilience of your organization. It offers room for customization and your own considerations, appropriate to the nature and scale of your company.
.Major disruptions in our society
.The reason for the guide is the deteriorating international security situation. According to the National Coordinator for Counterterrorism and Security, the question is not whether we will face major disruptions in society, but when. The government has therefore made the above scenarios central to businesses.
Call: actively work on resilience!
VNO-NCW and MKB-Nederland are calling on entrepreneurs, companies and sector organizations to actively work on their resilience using the tools in the guide and to think about how they can respond to possible changes in the demand for products and services in a (long-term) crisis situation. This helps entrepreneurs to keep their own businesses running and ensures that we all keep important chains and processes going.
