Are you a proud producer of Limburg regional products and do you work daily on innovation, sustainability and local impact? If so, Rabobank and LIOF cordially invite you to participate in the Limburg 2025 Regional Hero Award.

Why this award?

The Streekheld Award was created to stimulate innovation within regional production and increase the visibility of Limburg products and producers. Our common goal? More Limburg products on the consumer's plate - via retail and catering.

The demand for honest, local products is growing. Consumers want to know where their food comes from and how it was produced. Regional products play a key role in this: they are fresh, recognizable and contribute to a more sustainable, shorter food chain. Rabobank and LIOF support entrepreneurs who contribute to this with knowledge, network and financing.

What is the jury looking for?

The jury will evaluate entries based on seven themes. 1. How does your product or brand make itself unique compared to other providers of Limburg regional products? 2. Impact on the Limburg Regional Product 3. Local and Social Impact 4. Impact on the future 5. Sustainability and Environmental Impact 6. Marketing and Branding.

Participation is open to SMEs, primary producers and hospitality entrepreneurs who are active with Limburg regional products. Your company must be based in Limburg.

The jury consists of:

Presentation during Proef je Regio

The festive award ceremony will take place on Sunday, Oct. 5, during the Proef je Regio Day at MECC Maastricht, prior to the annual BBB.
