By combining practical education and applied research from HAS with the academic knowledge of the university, both parties aim to better respond to current issues within agri-food, horticulture and the living environment. Students will have more opportunities to work with businesses and organisations on regional issues. There will also be more intensive cooperation on innovative research programmes, including in the field of sustainable food production, smart cultivation systems and high-tech horticulture.

At the signing of the agreement and the presentation of the public version of HAS' plans for the future, chief executive Peter van Dijck and project leader Nicole Alberts were present on behalf of the LLTB.

With the cooperation, HAS and Maastricht University express the ambition to further develop North Limburg into a strong and innovative region within the green domain. Read the full news release from HAS here.
