How do you ensure enough well-trained people in a region where technology, care and innovation are in full development? Keyport connects education, entrepreneurs and government and works with partners to create a labour market that is ready for the future.

Connect and build momentum

In the Keyport region, the demand for well-trained people is growing. Companies are looking for talent, educational institutions want to connect well with practice and governments see how important a strong labour market is for the region. From the programme line Economy, Labour Market and Education, Keyport therefore brings entrepreneurs, education and government together.
"We bring the right people together, at the moment they are needed," says programme manager Ton Hagelstein. "That is Keyport's strength: connecting and building momentum together."

This cooperation is taking shape in various ways. For example, third-year HRM students from Zuyd University of Applied Sciences worked on real HR issues during a hackathon at Interduct. Their ideas were presented directly to management. This provided new insights for the company and valuable practical experience for the students.

The JobXperience project makes the labour market tangible for young people. At more than 35 regional companies, they get a look behind the scenes. This way, they discover which professions and work environments suit them and get to know the region better.

Regio Deal Midden-Limburg

In addition, Keyport is looking ahead. Within the Regio Deal Midden-Limburg, together with partners, several projects have been submitted to further strengthen the connection between education and the labour market. Think of projects such as; Experience your Career, You make it in Central Limburg and the expansion of the Spark Tech Labs. Keyport works together with, among others, Gilde Opleidingen, SOML, LVO Weert, Yuverta, Zuyd Hogeschool, Swalm and Roer, Meerderweert and Eduquaat. The Young Entrepreneurship programme encourages young people to turn ideas into action. In the Spark Tech Labs in Weert and Roermond, primary school pupils are playfully introduced to engineering and technology.

This is how Keyport is working step by step towards a region in which talent can develop and companies can find the people they need. Because the labour market of tomorrow is something you build together.
