Masterclass: patents in health care

Item date:

06 July

Event location: Brightlands Maastricht Health Campus

12:00 - 17:00

Do patents make medicines more expensive, or are they in fact a springboard for innovations in healthcare? That's what the annual master class of the Netherlands Patent Office is about.

Start-ups and large corporations invest a lot of money in researching, developing, and developing technological innovations - especially in healthcare. To recoup their investments, companies apply for patents. But what is the impact of doing so?

During the master class, speakers from leading companies, start-ups and experts from the world of intellectual property (IP) will delve deeper into the interplay between patents and technological innovations in healthcare.

For whom?

This master class is of particular interest to teachers in higher vocational education and at universities, scientists, start-ups and companies in the health sector who regularly deal with intellectual property rights, including patents.
