Dutch Food Week 2023

From October 9 to 12, the Dutch Food Week will take place at Brightlands Campus Greenport Venlo. During this week, get to know the themes campus residents are working on every day: healthy and sustainable food, future farming and the bio-circular economy.

The national Dutch Food Week will take place from October 7 to 14, 2023. During this week, events on food production, innovation and enjoyment of food will be organized throughout the Netherlands. Final symposium 'Value of Limburg fruit'

Food and health are attracting increasing attention. But do we know what we eat? And how does it influence our health? Through the 'Value of Limburg Fruit' project, Hasselt University and Maastricht University have developed new insights into the content of fruit from Limburg (apples, pears, grapes and strawberries), the effects of cultivation on this and the health value for consumers. National Food Quiz: do you know everything about food?

Get ready to sink your teeth into an assortment of questions about our food! Test your knowledge with your team and be surprised by the science behind our food during the National Food Quiz on Wednesday 11 October. Everyone can participate: with your company or with your friends, you name it. And, of course, Brightlands itself will also be participating live with a team! The questions are so varied that you don't have to be a specialist. Join the quiz online with a team of up to four people and win great prizes. Walk-in Insect Café

During the Dutch Agri Food Week there will again be a Walk-in Insect Café at the Brightlands Campus Greenport Venlo on Tuesday, October 10 from 3:00 to 6:00 pm.

There is still a lot unknown when it comes to growing insects and using them as ingredients or ingredients. Growers are really looking for knowledge and especially linkage with subsequent links in the value chain. Insect Valley Europe brings interested parties together through the Walk-In Insect Café and attempts to bring together parties from the entire chain, from an insect feed supplier, barn builder and insect breeder to the feed and food producer, in so-called insect circles.

AGF Marketing Event: 'Inspiration for digital transformation'

On Thursday, October 12, the AGF Marketing Event will take place, organized by NIMA Foodchain & Agrimarketing in cooperation with Groenten Fruit Huis and the AGF Trendcafé. The theme of this event is 'Inspiration for digital transformation and AI within the AGF sector'. This event will focus on how digital transformation and especially AI will affect the AGF sector currently and in the future. The AI inspiration session offers insight into Brightlands AI Academy and its opportunities. On Wednesday, October 11, from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m., an AI inspiration session will take place during Dutch Food Week at Brightlands Campus Greenport Venlo. During the inspiration session you will learn more about AI developments, Concrete AI business cases and their impact on companies and the study program Brightlands AI Academy.
