During this meeting we will immerse you in the world of insects and discuss all aspects involved in insect breeding. We will also discuss the breeding of insects as a sustainable and circular alternative to and broadening of traditional livestock farming.

  • Rural planning:What effect does insect farming have on the environment? How does insect farming fit into the environmental plan? Is a permit needed?
  • Real estate: What is involved in demolishing a barn or transforming a barn into an insect farm?
  • Regulations for peak farmers: What are the rules around the occupational ban when stopping livestock farming and switching to insect farming?

The purpose of this meeting is to provide information about insect farming and to raise questions about insect farming in relation to the business climate. It is a prelude to a guide to be prepared for entrepreneurs, municipalities and provinces. This guide aims to bring together the necessary knowledge about insect farming and share it widely, with the goal of giving the protein transition by means of insect farming a flying start.
