This Sunday, April 2, in northern Limburg, nine companies from the (greenhouse) horticulture sector are opening their doors to the pulpy. This year's public event 'Kom in de Kas' is all about love, and not just any love, but... Green Love! Green Love for each other, for the sector, for the grower and for the products from the greenhouse. Go out on Sunday, April 2, admire all the beauty the greenhouse sector has to offer and fall in love with your Green Love. From fruits and vegetables to plants and flowers, you'll discover it all in the greenhouse. Several companies can be visited in Melderslo, Grubbenvorst, Sevenum and Venlo. The event lasts from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m..
Your Green Love is closer than you think
During Kom in de Kas, everyone gets a chance to look inside the greenhouses and see for themselves how growers do things. See how everything grows. For delicious sweet strawberries go to Hendrix-Rasing Strawberries, they use a wide variety of innovative machinery and techniques. Baker Sweet Peppers has specialized in growing orange peppers. Orange bell bell pepper is very healthy, it contains a lot of vitamin C and is good for the eyes. Delve into the process of growing vegetable plants from sowing to delivery at Schreurs Planten and see several presentations at Bejo to get a better idea of breeding, production and sales of vegetable seeds. Groentebedrijf Baetsen is a modern outdoor vegetable company that specializes in growing carrots. Next, take a look at snack tomatoes at Westburg and at B&B Plant, a modern company that specializes in growing shrubs on stems suitable for patio and balcony.
Activities
Of course, the grower will be on hand to answer all your questions. Also the Brightlands Campus Greenport Venlo, where knowledge institutions, business and government come together open their doors. Here, among others Kokkerelli & Foundation Kids University for Cooking is present, they give special cooking workshops for children where the young visitors make their own dishes with fresh fruits and vegetables from the region. In addition, there will be something tasty everywhere and children will be entertained with bouncy castles, face painting, a cooking workshop or a scavenger hunt.

Kom in de Kas is the greenhouse industry's largest public event and will be organized for the 45th time in 2023. Nine companies are participating in Melderslo, Sevenum, Grubbenvorst and Venlo. Each participating company has something unique to offer. Opening hours are from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 2. Parking is available at the participating businesses.
